Food Truck Weddings at The Shearing Shed: A Fun, Flavour-Packed Way to Tie the Knot

If you’re not the “three-course alternate drop and white tablecloth” kind of couple, we’ve got some delicious news for you. While The Shearing Shed is home to a team of ridiculously talented chefs who can whip up everything from plated feasts to feasting banquets (seriously, they’ll cater to your every culinary whim), we totally get that not everyone craves the traditional model.

Some couples want something a little more festival vibes, a little less fine dining - which is why we’ve opened our gates to food trucks. Think wood-fired pizza vans, taco trucks, bao buns, dumplings, burgers, gelato carts… basically, if it comes on wheels and serves up happiness, we’re here for it.

So, why are food trucks becoming one of the hottest wedding catering trends on Phillip Island? Pull up a chair (or a hay bale), because we’re about to spill the (street food) tea.

Why Choose a Food Truck Wedding?

1. Laid-Back, Budget-Friendly Vibes

Food trucks often bring a more affordable and flexible catering option than traditional wedding menus. You still get epic food made with fresh local ingredients, but without the formal structure. Bonus: when you book a winter wedding at The Shearing Shed (June–August 2026), we’ll waive the usual $1,500 food truck access fee. More cash for cocktails, florals, or that killer band you’ve had your eye on.

2. Festival-Style Fun

Picture this: the smell of sizzling tacos, wood-fired pizzas or bao buns drifting across the courtyard, festoon lights twinkling above, and your guests mingling with food in hand. It’s interactive, it’s social, and it turns your reception into more of a mini-festival than a sit-down dinner.

3. Options for Everyone

From vegans to meat-lovers, gluten-free legends to dairy-free folk - food trucks usually offer menus that can be customised to keep everyone happily fed. No awkward “oh, sorry, we forgot about your dietary requirements” moments here.
