 Today I want to introduce you to the master mind behind all the events out here at The Shearing Shed, Abbie Patton, who is honestly just freaking amazing. She is mother to two beautiful girls Bailie and Matilda, Mum to fur baby Dusty & a much loved wife to her wonderful hubby Scott. The way Abbie runs every wedding is pretty dam admirable! Abbie is so passionate in what she does, making sure each & every couples day is something perfect they will cherish forever. As I have worked with her during many events I would describe her as an absolute weapon! She is always on top of any possible hiccup you may encounter throughout the day... That you probably wouldn't even know there is one! This is exactly the person you need to put trust in to make your day run as smoothly as possible. Abbie puts on absolute BANGING weddings exactly the way that YOU want to celebrate. She provides the location, a great attitude, the food, the drink, the staff, a good time & overall coordination of your special day! All your job is, is to turn up & celebrate hard!! Out here at the Shearing Shed we also offer guidance, support, one-line deterrents from over helpful family members, a shoulder to cry on & a hand to hi five (Pre & post covid of course) Abbie got in to the wedding business about 7 years ago, Her hubby Scott, his parents had a great old shearing shed on their property. The family were asked to host a few parties, then a wedding. As time went on people started to show more interest in the events side of things so this is when Abbie started looking at it more seriously. Originally opening as a restaurant, then the weddings took off so that is all we specialize in, putting our absolute everything into this side of the business! The thing Abbie loves most about the Wedding industry is the PARTY, getting to meet so many amazing people through this industry & many of them become great friends. Abbie loves the fact everything is around what you create for your special day it is all just so awesome! Abbie loves the vibe all the couples create. You will find us singing & dancing as we go around the duties, so while ensuring your event runs seamlessly, we are having a bloody good time in the making! When asking Abbie about her favourite style she can't choose just one because there are so many wonderful styles out there, what she does suggest is picking a style/ theme that is going to represent you both as a couple, there's nothing more comfortable than going with a theme that will suit you both down to a t! When asking Abbie what is the best/ craziest thing she has seen at an event, there is just so many as you can imagine at a wedding haha. One of them being when a groom approached Abbie asking if he could go & make some toast, he needed a slice of toast for his speeches. Later on that night he addressed the room with his piece of toast saying I would like to make a toast HAHA very punny! Another time Abbie had to ask a guest to take a breather, she asked him to stay on his current beer for a little while as he looked like he was going to peak far too early. Abbie explained that the bride & groom would like to remember their wedding for all the right reasons not for their guests being drunk, disorderly or falling down the stairs.... little do you know this guest fell down the stairs haha. Another time we had a fireworks display so trying to get all the guests to the best view point was fun as they didn't know what was coming! When talking to Abbie I asked her what is the one question she asks all her clients that best helps her understand them & everything they hope for on their special day. "What are you looking to create? not your mum not great Aunty Thelma, not your 6 best friends who got married recently & are experts... YOU Now to talk about the most memorable event & why it is so memorable. The most amazing thing about this is sending the bride down the aisle to her new forever, it gets us right in feels every time. We can often be found having a teary being caught up in the moment which is just so bloody nice to be right in the moment with you. There is something so special about sharing the excitement with the bride or telling silly jokes to ease the nerves. When talking about trends with Abbie she bloody hates that word, she said "can we delete that word who bloody cares" If it is trendy now it won't be in 5 minutes & you will wish you did something different. Choose things that mean something to you, choose colours because you like them not because the rest of the world is jizzing over them. If you are a die hard zombie apocalypse fan dress up & live your best wedding life the way you want it. Trends or not, you do you!! Abbie's best advice to her clients in the planning phase is to BREATHE. There is so much emphasis on the main event that couples don't always sit back & enjoy the ride getting there. Weddings are about the official joining of two persons, it is also about what comes before & what comes after. There will be things you both don't agree on but as with everything in life a little give or take will see you receive an outcome that works for you both.
