Today I am going to introduce you to one of our wonderful wedding photographers; Matt Elliot. Matt offers candid, natural & thoughtful photos. He loves to create an environment where couples feel relaxed, comfortable and confident in front of a camera. There is nothing he loves more than shutting off the outside world for a few moments to capture what is really important; the love and connection between the couple on their special day. Matt got into the business after realizing live music wasn't going to pay the bills, then a friend asked him to shoot his wedding in 2010 and the rest is history. Matt has been in the wedding industry for 9 years now, photographing over 400 weddings all over the city and state. Matt lives in Rye, Victoria with his two boys Finley and Jim and their two cats Pong and Daphne. The thing Matt loves most about the wedding industry is getting to learn everyone's story, not just the couple but their friends and family as well. Something about it is just super special! Matt enjoys the process of making the couple feel super comfortable in front of a camera, it is extremely daunting for some but he has a few tricks up his sleeve to get the couples to relax into the process. He loves that it ends up with them trusting him to create their images. When talking to Matt about the best/craziest thing he has ever done at an event his response was pretty cool. He climbed out onto a ledge 700 meters above the ground in the Grampians to take a shot of the bride and groom doing their first look. Scary and awesome all in one! This wedding was Matt's most memorable one, he got to take off on an adventure in the middle of winter to the Grampians. It involved the couple and their two kids, a whole lot of raw emotions and love! It was simply so beautiful! When we talk about trends that have gone nuts in the industry, Matt's favourite one that has been around for a while now is the first look. It can be so comforting for couples to see each other before the ceremony, it really settles the nerves and breaks the ice! Absolutely love it. The one questions Matt likes to ask all his couples to help him best understand their needs and requirement is. What are 3 things you want to remember about your day? Matts best advice for couples in their planning phase is to enjoy the process, it is over in a heart beat so enjoy every minute of it because it will fly by so quickly. Another one is sneak away to a corner of the room away from your guests and take it all in. Look at everyone enjoying themselves and remember to yourselves they are all here to celebrate you and your love! CONTACT |
