Let me introduce you to the very talented Michael Briggs Photography, who goes by the nickname 'Briggsy'. The area of expertise he specializes in is Wedding photography & hey we all need one of those for the big day! Briggsy started out as a frustrated musician who bought his first SLR camera to try & do something else creative, he then started taking photos of bands which led to shooting a friends wedding back in 2011. A whole bunch of hard work, sacrifice, good times and nearly 400 weddings, brings him to where he is today - A very popular photographer! The much loved father & husband, Briggsy is born & bred in the Yarra Valley & says he couldn't imagine living anywhere else. His passion is to capture lovers memorable moments as the day unfolds naturally. All the magical stuff that happens at a wedding is already there, he is very good at knowing when to step in to capture those special moments especially with the couples portrait photos. He loves a cold beer & to travel the world doing what he loves! Briggsy has been described in many ways, however the most memorable comment would have to be; "he is far more than just a wedding photographer he is a friend, positive vibe generator, protector from crazy family members, light hearted party starting memorable day maker! What Briggsy loves most about the wedding industry is that he is hanging out with all kinds of people on one of the most special & happiest day of their lives. What's not to love about that!? To quote Briggsy, "Even if I won Tattslotto, I would still shoot a dozen or so weddings a year!" His favourite style is photographing chilled out couples who like to make their own rules then tend to just go with the flow - It always turns out awesome! One of Briggsy's favourite things to be a part of is elopements, where he gets to be one of the two legal witnesses on the couples special day & to sign the paperwork which is pretty dam special if you ask me! Wise words from the man himself"I think it’s imperative you get to know your photographer, as you’re going to be working very closely with them during the planning & celebration of your wedding day. And I’m definitely not a ‘stand in the corner silently, awkwardly and zoom in’ kind of guy. One of my favourite indirect compliments that I can get from a wedding guest is when they ask me – ‘So, how do you know the couple’? It’s always awesome to be seen like another wedding guest and friend of the couple, and not just hired help" Just remember the entire vibe of the wedding is based on the couple. If the couple are pumped, happy, excited - then all of their guests are. If the couple are stressed, worried & their general vibe is off then all their guests will follow with that vibe too! Happy excited couples create memorable events! Lastly some advice to the couples in the planning phase of their wedding- Book a great celebrant. Then you're getting married, that is as far as the planning for the 'wedding' part goes! Then just plan the party that you want to have, prioritising what's important for to you! Love always Kaylah
