Today I want to introduce you all to the  amazing Corrie MacGregor who is the founder of Morrie & Maisie Floristry. She specializes in Wedding Floristry & dam is she good at what she does. Corrie started out as a corporate property lawyer becoming an in house resident at a large Australian fashion chain.

Knowing that law wasn't her passion she took a leap of faith & re-trained as a florist, now being where she is today, naming Morrie & Maisie after her creative grandparents.
The much loved mother & wife enjoys her funny puns, cheese scones, espresso martinis & the outdoors! Corrie is a Kiwi at heart married to a booming loud Scotsman, who's love for getting creative with flowers is out of this world.

What Corrie loves most about the wedding industry is that it's all based around love, which is always so happy & positive. It is definitely an extremely positive change from the corporate jungle. One of her favourite things is how creative the industry is, the couples she deals with are always looking for something different so no colour palette, bouquet or installation is ever the same.

Corrie adores the fact that all the different vendors work independently but all have a common goal, everyone in the end plays a crucial part in creating such a special day which is why she feels so honoured to be a part of this wonderful industry.

When asking Corrie what her favourite style is, she says " It's often hard to pick one favourite style as it always changes as often as my mood does". At the moment she is loving the wild & whimsical looks with wispy trails of beautiful jasmine. As she says, she likes her bouquets to be luxurious with loads of different flowers so whatever the style you choose just know it will be lush!!

One of Corrie's more memorable moments in the business is when one of her brides asked her to visit her mum's garden & hand pick flowers to include in all the bouquets. Her mum had an incredible garden full of stunning blooms. Corrie was able to include her mum's favourite, dahlia, & even some home grown blueberries in her bridal bouquet. It was so beautiful to be able to witness something so special between the bride & her mum.
When talking to Corrie about her favourite trends or what she would like to see in the industry she talked about wanting to see more recycling of flowers after a weddings or events. Often these flowers have so much more life in them & are too good to be thrown out.
She suggests to all her couples they could have a wrapping station at their reception so guests can take home a sentimental bunch of blooms. Even donating them to a rest home or charity is nice to share around the love & reduce wastage.

WISE WORDS FROM MORRIE & maisie

To all the lovers out there; ORGANIZE YOUR FLOWERS EARLY!
I hate seeing the disappointment when couples can't get what they want because they have spent all of their wedding budget elsewhere. Speak to your florist early so you can get an idea of pricing & what flowers will be available this will avoid any disappointments later on when it's getting closer to the actual wedding day. Flowers may not be cheap but they sometimes can be all the decoration you need. At the end of the day I want to be able to work with all my clients  to find something that is  wanted & easy on the wallet.
