I know sometimes in the midst of all the planning you may be feeling a bit lost which is completely normal, it can sometimes be mentally exhausting trying to get everything together. Especially when being asked several questions about themes/styles. There is no need to feel the pressure when trying to explain your style for your celebration. You might not even have a specific theme or style you are going for, there may be several things you like from all different themes. The best part about planning you can take a little bit from each idea you like to then put it altogether to make it uniquely your own :) Start by asking yourself a few questions to begin with. Do you know where you would like your wedding to be? What month of the year will your wedding be? What sort of colour palette are you going for? These will help you get an idea of what you might be interested in! Lets get talking about the endless possibilities & don't sweat the small stuff. Get & save some wedspirationI know it kind of goes without saying to do your research when it comes to the planning. Get scrolling through instagram or Pinterest, start pinning all your favourites to a board. Even cut out pictures from magazines & stick them in a scrapbook. Fashion & trends are forever changing so you might have some great ideas that you look back on in a few months & totally hate it haha This is completely normal to do just make sure you start planning early so there is plenty of time to re do things if you're not a fan of what you once chose! Choose your venueChoosing your venue in the early days of the process will make everything else kind of fall into place. Once you lock in a venue this will help you determine the vibe you are going for. Some venues already have some styling in place that you might not even have to do anything for, maybe just add a few floral decorations or signage. Once you have picked your venue grab your closest friend who has great taste in styling & take them to have a look. See what ideas they can add to yours to make your dream come to life! Talk to a proffesionalIf you are continuously still blank with the ideas & really have no idea or can't decide on anything I think now is the time to engage with a professional. Reach out to a styler & or wedding planner to help you nut it out together! Choose your colour paletteOkay now the pressure is on. This is one of the most thrilling & nerve racking parts, choosing a colour palette to be sustained throughout the whole wedding from the table to decor to the everything bridesmaid. You may be thinking what is the easiest way to decide on the palette? Pick a base colour & this colour should be a colour you LOVE. For example lets go with a earthy green tones then from there choose 2 or 3 complimentary colours that add dimension & variation usually go to your neutral colours like white, grey & nudes. Then if you aren't feeling comfortable maybe chat to a stylist just to be reassured you are going down the right path to what you want to achieve! Create a moodboardAnother great way to hone in on exactly what you want is to create a mood board. Get all your favourite inspiration from Pinterest, instagram, magazines or literally anything. Print these all off & stick them to a piece of cardboard. This way you can see if everything you like will come together & look great! Otherwise if you are some sort of photoshop guru give a digital mood board a crack then print it all out :) Happy mood boarding! Love always Kaylah xx
