Just got engaged!? Congrats! How exciting to start thinking of where you want to get married. Trying to find the place for all the celebrations to go down can be extremely tricky. There is so much to consider when choosing the perfect location. You want to make the day special, personal & amazing for all your friends & family but also keeping it within the budget you & your partner have decided on. There is also the thought of whether to go with a local or a destination wedding & this is all apart of the fun of choosing that special place! Here is some useful information that could potentially make your decision a little easier. It may be helpful to find a Wedding planner to have a chat about things first, including a budget & your vision of what you desire of your special day. Then it goes without saying to do some of your own research on venues. Social media is a wonderful thing with so many options out there for you to browse through. Establishing a guest list is a great idea too before heading to the venues so you can ask multiple questions. They can give you proper insight with the number of guests you wish to invite. By narrowing down the regions you would like to get married at, it can make the search much easier on yourself. Consider things like availability of accommodation, how far your guests will be willing to travel & how much it will cost them. Then, once you have a practical list of locations, head out to check them out. To help, here are some key pointers to think about whilst there. DATES You probably already have an idea which season you would prefer to get married, so going to the venue with a rough date will help you with the process & if your date isn't available then you can see what date is available. A few questions you could ask is whether multiple weddings are booked for the same day? if so how many? Another important one, is there a difference in price for similar dates, or different prices based on the day of week, time or whether its in winter or summer? BUDGET I know this is a boring one but most things revolve around how much you are willing to spend. Coming up with a budget at the beginning will probably shape the style of venue you are looking for, whether it is spending a little bit more for a destination wedding & getting a holiday out of it, or finding a venue that suits you locally. When looking at the venues its good to keep in mind what is included, if you need to hire anything else; eg. chairs or tables, which all add up; then you can't be caught out by those surprises costs. I know despite all good intentions with the budget its inevitable that it will stretch a bit which again is fine, you just have to choose your own adventure! POTENTIAL LOCATION Lets talk a destination wedding, what a wonderful adventure this could be with all your loved ones but keep in mind they may also take quite the bit of time to plan. A few positives for the destination location;
A few positive for local destination;
In saying that there are plenty of wedding venues that would cater for all your needs within reach of your humble abode! DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH Social media is a wonderful thing, if you see a location you love write it all down so that when it comes to the crunch of deciding you can go to the venues, ask prices, see whats included then weigh up all your options of what works best for you! The more research you do the more options & knowledge you will have of whats available for the perfect location you desire. PREPARE FOR THE VIEWING I hope all the above information has helped you form an idea on how to choose your location, I know its seems like it should be easy to just pick one location & go from there but nope there are far too many options out there & ideas you can go with!
Now lastly once you have chosen your potential venue or location here are some important things to consider when viewing the venue.
