SATURDAY THE 19TH OF MARCH 2022BEFORE THE WEDDINGHow did you meet? We went to High School together but it wasn't until a few years after leaving school that we decided to grab a coffee. How long have you been together? 5 1/2 years When did you know you had found your soul mate? Instantly. We hit it off immediately and have been inseparable ever since. What is something quirky about your partner? Something that drives you a little crazy but you love them regardless. I always offer Andy handy hints and tips from the passenger seat whilst in the car. Andy believes that every light should be on in the house, even when no-one is home. What was your first date? Our first date was to Venus Bay. Andy missed the turn off to the beach but I was too afraid to let him know (not anymore) and we spent the whole day sitting at one of the local cafes chatting. Andy got so badly sunburnt on his face, that one of the wait staff said to him "mate, I think you're gonna need to rub some aloe vera on that! (Making a hand gesture over Andy's face) Tell us about the proposal story. Late 2021, Andy had a car accident and that got him thinking about life and the big picture. He realized he didn't want to spend another day without me knowing how much he loved me. So, without me knowing, he bought a ring, asked y Dad for his blessing, then shortly after as the sun set over our home in Gippsland, Andy asked me to marry him. THE WEDDINGHow did you hear about us? What made you choose The Shearing Shed?
We saw your amazing venue on Instagram and it was our kinda vibe. How was the lead up to your day? Explain the planning process? Exciting, busy and the good kind of crazy! Everything came together super easy. All of our vendors were amazing to work with. Any funny stories or disaster leading up to your day? In the week leading up to the wedding, all final payments were made and everything was locked in and set to go with all vendors until... Andy asked me on the Wednesday night for a couple of the vendor contact details. After looking over the run sheet Andy said he is going to need to make some changes. I was very nervous. Haha It turned out he had planned a surprise for me. A Cinderella style horse drawn carriage to take us from The Shearing Shed to Smith's Beach for photos. Did you include any of the typical wedding traditions? We included the traditions we felt were important to us like; my dad walking me down the aisle and our first dance as husband and wife. What was your most memorable moment of the wedding? We had so many memorable moments from; Seeing just how happy everyone was for us on our day. Arriving in helicopter to be greeted by Kaylah and The Shearing Shed staff who then escorted me into a horse drawn carriage. Dancing the night away to some amazing music by Lily Road Band. Leaving The Shearing Shed as husband and wife while our guests cheered us on with fireworks in the sky. But most importantly having the whole day come together perfectly. Everyone tells you that it's going to be the best day of your life but nothing prepares you for just how amazing it actually is. Pinterest was probably your best friend! What was the inspiration behind all the styling/concept? The venue already has so much character and charm. It was exactly what we were after. We didn't want to draw attention away from this so we took a lot of our style inspiration from the venue itself. So many guests loved the venue and said it was very us. Words of wisdom for others planning a wedding? We decided early on what were our non-negotiables. This helped us plan our budget as were happy to put more money into these things. Have fun. Don't forget the day is about you and your partner. Do something you'll look back on and think, wow we really did that! Don't stress about the small stuff (it's hard I know) But it does all come together and the whole day is just magic. |
