Howdy everyone, Hope everyone's week has been good & you have something eventful planned for your weekend! It's super exciting being able to get out & about again with friends. Today's feature is Vanessa and Marty! I want to talk to you about their process during covid times. Vanessa and Marty came to view our venue in July this year. They had booked to elope in the Maldives but as you know it covid had other plans :( This is then when our venue came into their minds, so we showed them around & got a good idea of what they wanted their day to be like. They wanted something super relaxed where they could both just rock up for a good time, not having to deal with all the stresses that a wedding usually entails. They loved the idea of a spit BBQ in our outside area of our venue, where everyone can mingle with a beer & some great food in hand. Formalities being something they weren't keen on at all, the thought of the whole planning process was a bit overwhelming as they were due to elope by themselves in a tropical paradise called the Maldives. I really felt for them having to think of an alternate option but we tried to help out as best we could. Vanessa met Marty 8 years ago at gym knowing pretty much instantly they were soul mates. 8 years on they haven't looked back <3 Their very first date was dinner at a small boutique winery named Noels on the mornington peninsula. Followed by many years of love, Marty then took Vanessa to Cape kitchen for lunch to surprise Vanessa with a proposal. Of course she said YES !! So now this now takes us to why they thought about our venue as the one for them to tie the knot! Originally they had visited The Shearing Shed for our beloved food truck festival we used to host here annually. They loved the venue so much they thought it would be perfect for a wedding, especially after the circumstances with covid they couldn't travel to their dream destination to elope, so they had to think of a plan B. The planning process for Vanessa and Marty was exhausting to say the least. They were feeling very emotionally drained after going through 3 dates and 4 different venues later. They finally ended up at a beautiful boutique winery that the Island Wedding Collective ended up taking all their skills to another venue where they could have a beautiful micro wedding! Vanessa and Marty finally had the wedding of their dreams mid covid restrictions! The most memorable part of the day was when they got to say their " I do's" Such a beautiful way to remember the day simply being just about the two of you with your closest family members by your side. Vanessa's words of wisdom to others in the planning process of their wedding is to trust your team of creatives and RELAX it will all work out just the way you want. Little disclaimer; This elopement wasn't held here at The Shearing Shed. The wonderful Island Wedding Collective worked their magic to make sure these two lovers could tie the knot. Unfortunately it couldn't be at our venue due to Covid restrictions so they took their creative skills to a lovely boutique winery in Baxter. |
