Get planning honeys! dECIDE ON A DATE FOR WEDDINGIt comes with no surprise you will need to figure out a rough date before going to check out the venues, knowing the time of year you want to get married is a must. Venues book out quite fast especially if you are going for a more popular venue. All venues will have different prices for the different seasons so if you are wanting to save a few pennies maybe chat to the venue to see if they have any specials on. set a budgetAh then it all comes back to the bank account. Unless you have been saving your whole life so you can just go nuts on everything or have someone pay for your wedding I'm sure you will have some sort of budget in place. Just remember to think realistically in all that you need to include. book your venue Now on to the venue, it's no surprise you would want to lock this one in early days as well. Locking your venue in within 12 months of getting married is a must do, venues will generally be booked out months, even years in advance. This will also help with the dates too if you have a rough date but not sure, you will have to choose the availability that the venue has to offer. choose celebrantTechnically all you need to get married is the celebrant so best you find one of those you click with in the early days. Think about what sort of ceremony you would like & also what type of celebrant will slip in with both of your personalities to make your day most memorable! Book photographerWedding photography is seen as a must have from 99% of couples, who doesn't want to have their most precious moments captured on camera. Also think about whether you would like videography, if this comes with the photographer or you need to book separately. Have a think about the style of photos you would like as you will be looking back on them for years to come. Do some research into the style of images you would like, scroll through galleries on photographers pages to see what you love! wedding plannerIf you literally have no idea what you're doing when it comes to planning I would suggest chatting to a wedding planner. If you can't figure out how or where to book your venue, what kind of budget to have or even any of the suppliers a wedding planner is going to be perfect for you to nut out a game plan. wedding dressHEHE it's time to pick the dress of your dreams (If you haven't already) I know I probably would already have everything planned out as I'm an organized freak haha. This one is super fun getting to go out for the day with the girls to try on several dresses! 99% of brides say if they find the perfect dress in their viewings & it's out of the price range they don't care they are buying it anyway. 9-11 months to gowedding carsIf you already know who is in your wedding party & how you want to arrive I would start booking in those prestige cars or combi vans if that is what you're into! Vintage cars are still the most popular followed by your more classic style limousines. Wedding hireOkay, now its time to deck out your wedding venue. Consider what your venue already has then go from there. If you want to add more decorative items then this is something you will have to outsource. Floral abours are extremely popular at the moment to give you those amazing photo opportunity back drops! honeymoonAround about now is when you're wedding planning might start to become overwhelming, what better way to take your mind off things & book your honeymoon? Whether you have plans to go straight after your wedding or leave it that little bit longer so you can vacay for longer! Knowing that you have that holiday booked in might give you more inspiration to keep wedding planning. wedding flowersLets talk flowers, once you have a venue they might be able to tell you if they have any popular florists they already use who are familiar with their venue. This is probably a great way to go, recommendations are usually a great option. You want to put trust in a florist to take control of things on the day after you have determined with them the colour palette & styles. entertainmentYou probably are already aware of the music you want to go with, whether it be a live band or a DJ for the receptions you can weigh up the pros & cons then decide from there. he ceremony music is also something to consider, what are the songs you want to walk down the isle to, the pre ceremony songs? all that fun stuff. I would suggest chucking together a playlist with all your favs! book wedding accommodationIf this hasn't already come in your package with your venue look at the options of where to stay. Depending on how far in advance you liked to be organised it is up to you when you book your accommodation. As for your guests I would supply ample time for them to make a reservation as places may book out quickly. 6-8 months to goGrooms attireAlright lads it's time to pick your suits & formal wear. I'm sure majority of you will say "Yeah whatever that will do" to much despair of your fiance haha. Have a think about whether you want to go with something off the rack or if you want it to be a little extra & custom made. If you have your bridal squad with you now is a great time to get them fitted too! wedding stylingCongrats! You have reached mid point of your planning journey. With most of your essentials booked in now it's time to think about the overall styling you want for your big day! A wedding stylists job is to make your visions come true! Talk colour palettes, florals, hanging arrangement or even photo back drops. You name it & I'm sure your stylist will pull through with the goods. bridesmaids dressesOnce you have picked your color tones for the overall day now it's time to go pick those bridesmaid dresses (If you haven't already got them) making sure all the colour tones will match for their grand entrance on the day. 4-5 months to gowedding invitationsNow I'm sure by now you will have your venue, date & suppliers all booked in with a near complete guest list its time to narrow that list down then start designing your invitations to send out to give your guests a little taste of whats to come! book hair & makeup artistsYour hair & makeup is pretty important as they will be making you look incredible on the day. I would suggest booking in to have some trials therefore leaving yourself with enough time to shop around if you don't like your first choice. wedding jewelleryYay it's time to pick your rings, choose a design you love & see if it fits with your other jewellery you might wear on a day to day basis. Then when you pick them up have a think about who will be looking after them & making sure they make it to the venue. I think someone you really trust won't pull any fishy business on you haha. wedding cakeI don't know about you but this would be one of the best parts getting to choose your favourite cake supplier, does this mean eat your way around until you find a good one? because I'm down if that is the case. Contact a few suppliers & ask if you have the option to do a tasting then choose what style of cake you are after. Whether it be 2 or 3 tier, chocolate mud or vanilla sponge. YUM YUM 2-3 months to goHens/bucks partiesEeeep you are getting close now if the hens/bucks is approaching. I think you have done enough planning for now it's time to let the bridal party plan your hens day if they haven't already organized & wait for the fun to begin! ACCESSORIES for wedding partyThis is a super fun one! Once you have your dress, shoes all that jazz now its time to decide if you want a little more jewellery or maybe even a head piece of some sort to really spruce things up! choose & order bomboniereBy now you should know how many guests you will have coming & how many pieces you will need for your wedding favours if you choose to do so, some cute ideas are personalized spirits, succulents, shot glasses, cookies you name it! whatever floats your boat. finalize wedding day timetableOrganize with your bridal party to meet to go over arrangements for the day. Figure out a rough plan so then when you arrive to the venue you know whats going on. Check in with all your suppliers making sure they know their time slots when they can access the venue so everything can run super smooth on the day. less than 2 monthsThe final touchesThe last two months should be finalizing what you have already organized, remember that organisation is key. If everything is organized you literally just have to show up to marry the man of your dreams & party all night celebrating! Love always Kaylah xx
