We are in a pretty special position as wedding venue co-ordinators. We meet, get to know, and understand what makes each of our couples uniquely who they are; both individually and together as one.
We meet all sorts. The wild ones, the belly laughs, the cruisers, the quiet. These two, Tom and Madeleine, were a class all of their own. They were stunning to watch. The way they interacted was like a dance. They didn't need to use words; a smile, a tilt of a head, the rise of a hand; they were enough. Each ones movements complimented the others seamlessly. It was like they were two halves of the whole.
These guys were the lucky winners of our 2018 major promotion which, in case you missed it, was the chance to win your wedding with us at The Shearing Shed. So from the get go we knew this wedding was going to be something special.
Beyond throwing some colour requests at us and letting us know that they wanted lots of greenery and native flowers they were very trusting of us to create a master piece.
When I say us, I am talking about Kristie at Over The Top Events. I'm a big enough girl to admit that styling is not my strongest skill set, so enter the woman behind the creativity, the stunning installations, the overall wedding day transformation. Kristie is a wealth of event knowledge, originality and beyond anything else is just the nicest damn person you will have the pleasure to know. All you need to do is look at the images below to understand what I am talking about. Which leads me to Mr Matt Elliott, photographer extraordinaire. This was the first time Matt had visited The Shearing Shed and it was lovely getting to know him. An easy going guy, Matt made everyone around him feel at ease, which is a first rate quality in a photographer. Haling from Rye, he is only a picturesque drive away from our island home.
