We all know pretty much the first thing that comes to mind when you say “wedding” is the cost. Let me give you a little insight to what goes on behind the scenes leading up to your special day & all that goes on during the happiest day of your life. The Venue There is a lot more venue preparation than the average event. The level of care taken to prepare is next level compared to day to day operations. Usually, in the lead up week to your wedding, we put that extra attention to detail setting up everything to make it amazing. But before we even get there, there will have been viewings involved, almost every couple wants to check out the venue in person & typically more than once. After the initial decision on the venue then couples will often opt to show Mum & Dad, then maybe extended family or friends to validate your decision. Then lastly the logistical stuff, where to put everything, which can mean another site visit to measure spaces for accessories. Liaison Whether it is via email or on the telephone (and more recently Zoom) there is a lot of communication that goes on between a venue & a couple in the lead up. Most couples are pretty laid back. There are also couples who need to be reassured about everything which is totally okay as well. There is no right or wrong amount of communication and we prefer more than less if it means you are comfortable in your understanding of what we can achieve together. There is also back & forth liaison with all the suppliers to make sure they are all on track for the day so they can do their job easily as well as effectively. Staff We supply all the staff to make your event run seamlessly. We have invested the time in their training to ensure they understand the importance of invisible service. They anticipate what is going to happen next and make sure the room, the guests and the equipment are ready before you are. They're pretty awesome if we do say so ourselves. Wear & Tear It is usually inevitable but still a considered cost. From broken glasses, spillage on the furniture, electricity, water & maintenance costs due to the high numbers. We also ensure the gardens are picture and the driveways are maintained to ensure your vintage cars have easy access to the venue. The pack up process We love seeing people enthusiastically celebrating the love of their friend or family member. But this can mean there is far more to pack up at the end of the night. Lots of rubbish removal, cleaning the bathrooms, tables and floors, are all part of the gig, however we also assist with the pack down of styling items ready to be removed from the venue. Everything to be done is to bring the venue back to how it looked beforehand. Wedding Co-ordinator What we don't often point out is that fact we when you book our venue you get one or more of us thrown in as a wedding coordinator totally free. We are just part of the package. We will help you work out the run times and flow of the event, help the different vendors on arrival, (and recommend some vendors if you are needing help there too) fluff the brides dress before she walks down the aisle and make sure Aunty Sharon doesn't have one too many Chardy's at the reception. We have your back and that's worth its weight in gold. At the end of the day venue owners need to make some money, it comes down to being a business & not just a hobby. The prices include everything to a decent degree, then enough to make a little profit.
Here at the shearing we shed we want the absolute best for you at a price that works for the both of us. We want your wedding dreams to come true! |
